2007-01-29 05:12 The homage album We All Love Ennio Morricone will be released on February 20th, just a few days before the famous music composer is honoured at the Academy Awards (Oscars) ceremony on February the 25th.
Celine will sing the song I Knew I Loved You. Among the other artists featured on the 17 tracks of the album we find Quincy Jones, Herbie Hancock, Bruce Springsteen, Andrea Bocelli, Yo-Yo Ma, Renée Fleming, Roger Waters, Chris Botti and Metallica.
2007-01-11 06:16 Today, we learned some of the Quebec writers who penned songs for Céline's next album: Jeannette Bertrand, Denise Bombardier, Marie Laberge and Lise Payette.
You probably all know by now that Céline will end her Vegas performances on December 15, 2007. She already announced she will do a world tour in 2008. Before doing that world tour, she will perform her first public appearance on the African continent. On February 14, she will perform at a major benefit event in Johannesburg, South Africa.
2007-01-10 05:06 Celine's next album should be released in May. Entitled D'Elles (from them, the feminine version of the title of D'Eux), it will feature texts from female writers both from Quebec and from France. Among the names that leaked so far, we find Nina Bouraoui, Christine Orban and Françoise Dorin. The album would be produced by Jean-Jacques Goldman.
2006-12-12 18:02 Céline appears in a TV commercial right now in the US, for the Walgreen's drug stores, for a promotion about her perfume. Click on the following link to view it:
2006-11-30 04:58 Céline had to cancel the 5 concerts of this week in Las Vegas, due to a bronchitis. She will not go to the Billboard Music Awards on Monday where she was supposed to present a special award to Tony Bennett. The shows are scheduled to start over on December 28.
2006-11-16 05:57 Just a quick line to tell you that there are rumours for a World Tour for Céline after the end of her Las Vegas performances a year from now. Apparently, there are 3 major promoters interested in making plans towards that. Last week, Georges-Hébert Germain published a biography of Céline's mother. I haven't had time to read it yet. I can't help wondering if he made as many errors in this one as he did in Céline's one.
2006-10-30 05:08 Last night was the ADISQ gala (Quebec music awards). Céline didn't win although she was in nomination in two categories (Female artist of the Year and Song of the Year - for Je ne vous oublie pas). However, on October 23rd, Céline co-won an award from the SOCAN to reward the fact that the song she co-wrote for Marc Dupré (Tout près du bonheur) has been #1 this year in the Canadian charts.
2006-10-25 19:11 I finally received the audio CD that came as a bonus for the Contes pour tous DVD box set. And I got it free of charge, as I was supposed to, not against a fee as I was led to believe due to a coupon that I received (by error according to the Imavision). On the CD, Céline's Dans la main d'un magicien is the first track. It's the only CD quality recording of that song.
2006-10-10 18:41 Regarding the news I posted on Sept. 27 about the ordering of a DVD box-set of the Contes pour tous with a bonus CD with Céline... I received the DVDs today... BUT not the CD... they say it's due to a production delay... but ask to pay extra fees for the extra shipping. So, BEWARE, if you are ordering this box-set, IMAVISION is apparently only after your money, they should inspired themselves from the good practices of reputable online stores like Amazon.
2006-10-10 06:00 Chimène Badi, who left the France TV show Popstars (a show a bit like American Idol aiming at forming a group) in 2002, will be launching on November 27th her 3rd album. The first single is Tellement beau (So beautiful), which is a French adaptation of Would I Know (written by Diane Warren), which was supposed to be on the All The Way... A Decade of Songs album. The song has been recorded by Charlotte Church on the soundtrack of the I'll Be There 2003 movie.
